How to Send Pictures as an Attachment in an E-mail

We all like to share our memories with our near and dear ones. Whenever a group assembles, only a few click photographs from their cameras. However, these pictures are to be sent to others. There are many ways to send pictures, like you can share the memory card, you can share the printed images or you can send them via e-mails.

Sharing pictures by exchanging the memory card

If you share the pictures by sharing the memory card, you risk losing it. It can happen that you give your friend the memory card and he accidentally loses it. Or his device may be faulty so it can corrupt your pictures. If any of these situations occur, you lose your pictures as the memory card contained the original pictures. So it is advisable that if you adopt this mode for sharing your data or pictures, you should have a complete back up with you.

The next method in which pictures can be shared is through exchanging the printed photographs or the hard copied versions. The problem with this method is that your friend can spill over something on your pictures. If this phenomenon occurs then you will have to accept coffee memories (coffee spilled on the pictures).

Sharing pictures in the form of attachment in an e-mail

The best and the safest way to share your pictures, is by sending them as an attachment on the email id of your friends and relatives.

Attachment in an E-mailMethod to be followed

If you have an e-mail program stored on your computer.

Below mentioned are the steps to be followed for sending pictures as an attachment in e-mail:

  • The pictures should be stored on your computer.
  • Open the “Pictures Library” section in the “Start” menu. Subsequently, open the pictures to be sent by clicking them.
  • If you have your pictures in a folder then open the folder. After this, select the pictures to be sent. To select more than one picture press and continue holding “Ctrl” key while you are selecting the pictures.
  • You should have an e-mail program stored on your computer. If you have the same, then click “E-mail” option in the “Tool” section.
  • You will now see “Attach Files” dialog box on your screen. Select the “Picture Size” you wish to send from the list given. Clicking “Attach” will execute the command. After this command is processed the Windows will open a new e-mail message and attach your selected pictures in this e-mail message.
  • You can type a message in the message box. Enter the e-mail address of the recipient. Once you have completed this, you should click “Send” to send the pictures on the address entered.

If you do not have an e-mail program stored on your computer

If you do not have an e-mail program stored on your computer then you have to follow the below mentioned procedure:

  • Open your email account.
  • Click opens the new message section.
  • Now select the attachments bar, on the screen.
  • Select the pictures you want to send and attach them one by one to the mail.
  • You can type a message in the message box. Enter the e-mail address of the recipient. Once you have completed this, you should click “Send” to send the pictures on the address entered.

You can also drag the pictures directly into an already opened e-mail message. If you follow this method you will not have the option to make the pictures smaller in size.
