Sony® to bring Music Unlimited service to Apple® App store soon

The Chief Operating Officer of Sony Entertainment Network, Shawn Layden, has said that the Music Unlimited service of Sony will be coming to iOS platform as a separate app. It will be available on the Apple App store in the coming weeks.

Currently a user can download Sony music from iTunes and there are no plans to change that. Music Unlimited is a monthly subscription service where you can listen to custom radio or on-demand songs and playlists starting at US $3.99 and going up to US $9.99/month.

Sony Entertainment Network includes the company’s gaming, movies, and music portfolios, and Sony is hoping to make these available to as many devices as possible. Presently, the Music Unlimited app is available for Android devices and Sony PlayStation Vita only. But now, Layden has confirmed that it will shortly land on iOS too. When asked whether the arrival of Music Unlimited would have a negative effect on the Sony-Apple relationship, Layden stated, “Sony music is still part of iTunes – there is no change in that.”
